The Town of Trenton is seeking a seasoned professional leader to assume the role of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and facilitate the continued growth and revitalization of our community.
Qualifications & Application Process:
As the CAO, you will be the administrative lead for the Town of Trenton, overseeing the established senior management team and activities of the Town in accordance with the Municipal Government Act of Nova Scotia.
Reporting to the Mayor and Council of the Town of Trenton, the CAO is responsible for providing guidance with supportive data and, under Council direction, to ensure all services, programs, policies, and objectives are performed and carried out effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of residents. Your role will also include developing meaningful relationships with other levels of government, neighbouring municipal units, and key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned local government administrative professional, with suitable academic and professional credentials and be familiar with issues facing municipal units in Rural Nova Scotia. Consideration will also be given to other professionals with experience in a diverse leadership capacity.
All applicants are required to demonstrate in their cover letter a solid track record with building consensus among stakeholders and/or other working groups, strong problem-solving abilities, and a desire to build relationships with residents, and work positively with and for the public.
