2022-2023 Budget & Tax Rate

At the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, Council approved, accepted, and adopted the General Operating Budget of the Town of Trenton for the fiscal year from April 01, 2022 to March 31, 2023, in the amount of $4,680,027.

With extra consideration and reflection by Council, we have approved the Town’s Residential and Resource property tax rate for this fiscal year will increase $0.05 to be set at $2.04 per $100 of assessment.

All other tax rates will remain unchanged from the previous fiscal as follows:

  • Commercial property tax rate to stay at $4.10 per $100 of assessment
  • Solid Waste (garbage collection) annual user fee rate of $146.00 per dwelling unit
  • Fire protection rate at $0.0725 per $100 of assessment

Dependent on property assessments, this may cause property owners to see an increase in their final tax bills, set to be issued in September 2022.

Council did not come to this decision lightly, and exhausted various scenarios ending with this necessary change. We would like to thank residents for their understanding and know we will continue to put the future of our Town at the forefront of our decision making.
